Achieving your dreams and rebuilding life after your 30s can be challenging. You may feel left behind, and there is no time left to reach your goals.

Ray Kroc joined Mcdonald’s at 52, turning it into one of the biggest and most profitable food chains.

Vera Wang founded her own bridal company at the age of 40.

Alan Rickman, the actor in harry potter, started his acting career after his 40s.

A few others who started after their 30s are Julia Child, Morgan Freeman, Harland Sanders, Momofuku Ando, Tim and Nina Zagat, and Martha Stewart. It’s never too late to achieve your dreams. All you need is patience, persistence and willingness to adapt.

Here are 10 things you must do to achieve immense success after your 30s.

1. Live According to Your Core Values

Success comes from within you. If you are a person of strong character, no one can stop you from being successful.

If your core values are responsibility, integrity, professionalism, trustworthiness, discipline, etc., then live according to your core values.

You don’t need to live a double life where you have to lie because of circumstances or stay in bed while you need to hit the gym.

That’s not you.

2. Identify the True Cause of Failure

What is it that is holding you back? Is it because of too many responsibilities on your shoulder, family pressure, emotional restriction, financial problems, addiction or because you are just lazy and scared?

Whatever the reason is, you need to identify the cause of your failure. Please don’t blame it on luck or someone else because that won’t solve anything.

3. Minimize Distraction

There are all kinds of distractions in this world when you walk alone on the path of success. Strangers, relatives, and sometimes even your family will not support you.

They will try to impose their belief that whatever you are doing is wrong and it is too late to do anything involving risk.

These are distractions.

Other distractions include getting rich fast schemes, digital distractions, gossip, etc.

4. Develop Productive Habits

Develop productive habits that align with your goals. To develop a habit, you need consistency in your work.

Working on your goals won’t be easy if you suffer from low self-esteem and low self-confidence.

Therefore, do only 5-10 minutes of your work daily.

This small amount of work can be done without motivation or strong willpower. The trick is once you take action, you will find the joy to continue it for a more extended period on most days.

The more you repeat this process, the faster you develop your productive habits.

5. Mindfulness Practice

Mindfulness practice will teach you to live in the present. Most of us fail to reach our goals because we are too focused on the future or past.

It causes stress, worry and regret, which eventually wastes our inner energy. The more we become stressed and worried, the less productive we become.

You may or may not achieve the desired result you desire, but results are not up to us.

We can only perform actions to achieve those results.

Imagine what will happen if we give 100% of our inner energy to our actions rather than worrying about the outcome.

6. Equal Importance to Basic and Priority

You cannot become disciplined in one area of your life and indiscipline in another. Many of us want to become disciplined on our priorities like life goals but ignore the basics like making the bed in the morning.

Character doesn’t develop that way.

If you want to develop discipline in your life, focus on small things like doing the dishes, cleaning the room or washing the clothes on time.

This will give you a sense of accomplishment, which will help you further on your big projects.

7. Focus on One Thing

Some people don’t get success after working hard because they focus on multiple things at the same time. Focus on one thing that gives you your purpose in life and avoid the others at all costs.

People who focus on multiple things as a backup plan only means they are not serious about their dreams.

Besides, concentrating all your energy on one thing will make you more focused and sincere in your work.

8. Respect Others’ Beliefs and Opinion, but Don’t Need to Accept

Respecting others and their belief is a crucial element to your success. This is because once you argue about their beliefs and yours, you just waste your time and energy, which will only harm you.

Moreover, respecting others’ beliefs will cultivate a positive energy within you which will help you in your productive work.

Respecting others’ beliefs doesn’t mean accepting them.

Jealousy, anger, cursing, talking negatively about others, prying on neighbors, etc., are some personality traits that can waste your productive energy daily.

9. Continuous Learning

You should be hungry for knowledge. Have a growth mindset and pursue lifelong learning.

Read books, listen to podcasts, meet new people, attend seminars or webinars, and watch educational videos, which will unlock new insight into your life.

10. Behavioral Addiction

We know about substance addiction and its detrimental effects.

But in today’s world, where there is an abundance of video games, entertainment and online products, a new addiction known as behavioral addiction is forming.

Online shopping addiction, pornography addiction, binge-watching Netflix or playing excessive video games are a few examples.

Suppose you are not paying attention to these behaviors. In that case, you will soon find yourself losing interest in quality life, not wanting to pursue your goals, and your happiness will only depend on those behaviors.

Final Thoughts

Becoming successful after your 30s is a personal and unique life journey. If you follow the ten points above, it will improve your self-confidence and self-image, which will generate success in the long run.

Be patient with yourself, celebrate the small victories and remain persistent to create a brighter future.
