Tea is one of man’s best nutritional inventions; it has its way of keeping us healthy. Tea, aside from awakening our body system, contains antioxidants, helps reduce weight, and protects the bones. This is why every culture has its brand of tea with similar health benefits to others. Although tea is good, we shouldn’t take it daily. Tea taken daily can cause negative health implications like headache, anxiety, disrupted sleep patterns, and digestive issues. Be it as it may, it all depends on the individual’s body system. There has been a situation where some people take 3-4 cups of tea representing 710–950 ml without any side effects. Some take lower doses yet experience some side effects. Nevertheless, tea drinking is healthy for our body regardless.
Every tea brand has its own uniqueness and purpose; while some are known for their herbal ingredients, others are known for waking body cells, thus, the name “wellness tea” brands. That’s what we are going to emphasize in this article. We will be listing some popular types of regular tea and point out the ingredients that made it a wellness tea. Read on.
What Makes Your Regular Tea a Wellness Tea
1. Black Tea
Black tea is popular amongst Asians, though widely consumed in Europe too. To others, it seems like every other normal tea like we know it, but it has a way of taking care of the heart, lowering bad LDL cholesterol, detoxifying the body, and many other benefits. Some of the unique properties that distinguish it from your regular tea are Polyphenols, which help detoxify the system, and flavonoids (another type of antioxidant) beneficial to the heart. Polyphenols ingredients also maintain a healthy gut; it does this by enabling the growth of good bacteria, making it overshadow Salmonella (also known as the bad bacteria).
2. Green Tea
This is yet another popular tea consumed by many regularly. The leaves brewing this tea are gotten from the Camellia sinensis bush and boiled to kill the enzymes that cause oxidation. The preservation method helps preserve the high vitamins, minerals, and antioxidant levels of the leaves. It is greenish when brewed; thus, the name “green tea.” Green tea, as we know, it contains healthy ingredients that help boost human health. Green Tea contains caffeine: a substance that helps boost neurotransmitters like norepinephrine and dopamine. Green tea also contributes to the burning of fat through its increased 17% fat oxidation. The antioxidants in green tea help prevent breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and prostate cancer.
3. Oolong Tea
This is a conventional Chinese tea but is also widely consumed in the Asian continent. The leaf is left for between 2-4 hours before heated up to stale oxidization. The longer it is oxidized, the darker the tea. The Oolong tastes like black tea with longer oxidization, but it tastes like green tea when the oxidization is shorter. A cup of Oolong tea contains potassium, magnesium, calcium, 38 mg of caffeine, and antioxidants. This tea helps in the prevention of diabetes and complications associated with it. Because of the presence of antioxidants, it helps improve heart health and helps in weight loss. The large concentration of caffeine increases the release of dopamine and norepinephrine, which is good for improving brain health.
4. White Tea
White tea is another wellness tea people often drink regularly, and it is also considered the least processed tea. It comes with a lower caffeine content than green tea and has very high antioxidants properties. Polyphenols: a type of antioxidant in white tea helps protect the cells from damage by the free radicals. Free radicals are responsible for weakening the immune system, chronic inflammation, and aging. Polyphenols in white tea help reduce the risk of suffering from heart disease. This wellness tea also helps in weight loss because of the high level of catechins (e.g., epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and caffeine.
According to a study conducted on over 100,000 people in China by the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, people who drink more tea are less likely to die to suffer from any particular kind of stroke or atherosclerotic heart disease. Everybody needs a tea that can guarantee a healthy blood sugar, strong inflammatory response, can relieve stress, boost metabolism, and improve digestive health. All these and more you will find in Herbaly’s range of tea products purposely designed for your daily use. There are still many types of tea out there that have what it takes to be called a wellness tea brand, but sticking to what works is advised – more reason to confide in Herbaly. But in all of this, we must be careful not to abuse these things. We recommend you take tea: any tea (at most) three times a week. Drink safely.
