Camping is a great way to unplug and escape the daily grind to give yourself a chance to relax and enjoy nature. So whether you love to put on your boots and go for a hike or enjoy resting under the sky, there’s the perfect camping spot for you. Let’s take a look at some of the best places to go camping in your lifetime.

Here, you’ll find the only campground for dogs, and their pet parents in the US. 4 Paws has RV sites, cabins, and yurts to stay in. The best feature of this camping site, though, is the dog-friendly amenities. Your dog can relax at the dog spa, play with new friends off-leash at the dog parks, or go into a private pond at the campground.

If you have dogs and kids, check out Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, located in Virginia near the Blue Ridge Mountains. This pet-friendly campground offers a great mix of activities for children, adults, and pets, including a water park, mini-golf, and outdoor movie theater. Of course, some of the activities aren’t pet-friendly, but your dog can still enjoy a hike in the woods.

5. Laugavegur, Iceland

Iceland is known for its snow, but before the cold season comes, you can sleep near the mountains, go hunting, or camp in a tent. Laugavegur is great for hiking, where you can walk across lava fields and meadows with a beautiful mountain view everywhere you turn.

If you don’t want to sleep in a tent on the ground but still want to experience nature, consider checking out EcoCamp Patagonia in Chile. EcoCamp allows you to camp in comfortable domes that don’t require you to sleep on the ground. The sustainable dome hotel offers different levels of domes, complete with skylights that allow you to fall asleep under the stars without being outside. Even though these domes are without heat, they’re incredibly cozy with a bed and fleece sheets.

Acadia National Park gives you front-row seats to Cadillac Mountain and thick woods. There are a few different ways you can camp in Acadia, but the most popular is at the Schoodic Woods Campground, where you can reserve a spot for your tent or RV. Amenities at the campground include an Amphitheater, toilets, parking, a fire pit, electricity and water hookups, and a food locker.

9. Dark Sky RV Campground

Located in Kanab, Utah, Dark Sky Campground is an RV campground with 40 acres and close to national parks like Zion. Unfortunately, tent camping is prohibited, but there are pet-friendly can and truck locations if you want a patio, hammock, or chairs. The RV campground also has showers and a covered terrace.

10. Lost River Valley Campground

Located in North Woodstock, New Hampshire, Lost River Valley Campground is surrounded by forest with dog-friendly glamping opportunities ideal for dogs and their humans. You can rent a cabin, which sleeps up to six people and comes with air conditioning, heating, a kitchen with a fridge, and basic kitchen amenities. If you prefer to sleep in a tent, you can choose from several tent sights that allow you to sleep under the stairs. The campground also has showers and water for you to fill up your water bottles.

Assateague Island campgrounds are located in Maryland, just nine miles south of Ocean City. Here, you’ll have 37 miles of beaches that offer camping, swimming, surfing, biking, and tons of beautiful wild horses.
